The results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2012 were announced early on Wednesday. Of the total applicants who appeared for the test all over the country, 10 have secured a 100 percentile.
Three students from Maharashtra have secured a 100 percentile, of which one is from Pune while two are from Mumbai, sources said.
"Our student Nihar J from Pune has secured 99.99 percentile and is the topper of our institution . There were around 16,000 students from Pune who took the test," said T G Param, Director, TIME.
As many as 2.14 lakh students had registered for the exam, of which 1.91 students appeared for the online exams. The students were competing for the 3,500 seats in 13 IIMs across the country. The exams were conducted from October 11 to November 6 in 36 cities across the country. This edition of CAT 2012 was conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode. Although the result was posted early in the morning, due to heavy internet traffic, the website was not accessible.
The website was finally accessible to students only after 1pm. Candidates can log on to the CAT website "www.catiim.in." and enter their email address and CAT registration number to access their results.
Central Bank of India wins banker prize
The Central Bank of India was conferred the second prize by the Maharashtra state-level banker committee (Rajbhasha) for 2011-12. The award was given for their implementation of the official language policy of the government of India in the state. The award was given on January 8 at the Jog Auditorium, head office, Pune. Also present were executive director of Bank of Maharashtra, C.V.R. Rajendran and Deputy director (Implementation), Rajbhasha Vibhag, GOI, Mumbai Vinod Sharma, who conferred the shield to General Manager of the Central Bank of India, Ram Sangapure.
