Cause couture

It was raining Bollywood stars at Shabana Azmi’s charity fashion show,Mizwan,on Sunday evening. Supporting Shabana’s cause was her immediate family — mother Shaukat Azmi,brother Baba Azmi,husband Javed Akhtar and Javed’s son Farhan Akhtar,who even walked the ramp. The show was organised to raise money for the education of girls.

Shabana’s goodwill in the industry got the who’s who of Bollywood on the ramp. Ranbir Kapoor looked dapper in a bandhgala and dhoti pants. Cheering for him from the audience were mom and dad,Neetu and Rishi Kapoor. Hrithik Roshan dressed in a white jacket walked the ramp too followed by Kunal Kapoor and Rohit Roy. Karan Johar,who is mostly used to a couch,looked a tad uncomfortable on the runway. Anushka Sharma in a lehenga; Priyanka Chopra in a floor length salwar kameez and Lara Dutta in a sari made for a pretty picture. Also present at the event were Shilpa Shetty,Ranveer Singh,Sandhya Mridul,Mana and Suneil Shetty and Neha Dhupia. Pratik came dressed in tattered denims and a ganji as if to indicate that he is still very much in his Dhobi Ghat character. However,later he changed into loose trousers and a longish Nehru jacket for the show.
