CBI arrests 4 engineers of MES, Lonavala

Four Military Engineering Services (MES), Navy, Lonavala, officers were arrested by the CBI-ACB Thursday while allegedly accepting Rs 5 lakh bribe from a civil contractor to issue his pending bills. The engineers have been identified as garrison engineer Joys Thomas, two assistant garrison engineers K Saravanan and A K Khan and a junior engineer Ravi Paul. CBI said contractor was awarded two separate contracts of civil engineering work of more than Rs two crores. Investigating officer inspector D K Bali said the four were sent to police custody till October 22.
