Sweety was picked up from Delhi yesterday and was brought to Mumbai where he was questioned the whole night by the Anti Corruption Bureau of the CBI after which he was placed under arrest.
Sweety along with the three other arrested accused would be produced before a special CBI court in south Mumbai later today.
During his questioning,Sweety was confronted with telephone calls that he allegedly made to Patil whose case is pending before the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission headed by Buta Singh.
According to the complainant,Sweety had demanded a sum of Rs 1 crore from him to close the case registered against him under the SC/ST Act.
Patil had allegedly taken a loan of around Rs 10 crore from a cooperative society on behalf of over 100 persons from the Dalit community. He allegedly pocketed the money following which a case was registered against him.
