CBI arrests MOIL employee for taking bribe

He was arrested immediately and charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act,CBI said.

CBI’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a senior manager with a PSU for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 21,000 from a stationery supplier.

Raju Nair,who works with Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL),had demanded 3.5 per cent of total bill of RS 7.21 lakh from stationery supplier Sandeep Jain for clearing payment. He then settled for Rs 21,000 and asked Jain to hand him the money at his residence in Bharat Nagar area of city last evening,CBI said today.

In the meantime,Jain approached CBI and lodged a complaint. A trap was laid and CBI sleuths caught him red-handed from near his residence.

He was arrested immediately and charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act,CBI said,adding that he would be produced in designated court today.
