  • The CBI inducted over 40 "GenNext" sub-inspectors adept at carrying out investigation into cyber crimes, fake Indian currency notes and economic offences as part of its efforts to revamp the premier agency.

CBI Director Ashwani Kumar administered the oath to 43 officers, who underwent rigorous training for over a year, to serve the country and fight corruption at its training academy in Ghaziabad.

"We have trained you to become the GenNext investigation officers, the kind of officers CBI and this country needs today. We have demilitarised your training and focused more on giving you the inputs which are required more in the field and have also tried to make your training more sophisticated and in tune with the changing time and demands," Kumar said during the investiture ceremony.

The officers, trained in law, general and specialised investigation, cyber crime, cyber forensics, typing, driving, unarmed combat, soft skills, group dynamics and leadership skills will join the different departments of the investigation agency.
