Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Wednesday accused the Congress of using the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against his party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

"CBI has become Congress Bureau of Investigation," Singh alleged, reacting to the reports that the premier had gone by the allegations made in a PIL against Yadav even without verifying them from his family members.

"Congress is not giving regional parties their due, which is a matter of concern," the SP leader told reporters at the party office here.

Singh alleged that the CBI had registered a disproportionate assets case against Yadav on the basis of the PIL without verification.

"It should be proved that the alleged assets, including a cinema hall and a hotel, belong to Mulayam Singh," he demanded.

Samajwadi Party today stepped up its attack on the Congress accusing it of virtually adopting a 'use and throw' policy towards allies ranging from Left parties to NCP, RJD and SP.

"When the utility is over.. they (Congress) even do not recognize. That is clearly visible," SP general secretary Amar Singh told reporters here as the criticism of the Congress remained unabated in the wake of fresh developments in the Supreme Court on the disproportionate asset case against Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Singh recalled that the cases against BSP supreme Mayawati vanish when her party supports the Congress in Presidential election.

"Once elections are over, they resurface," he said adding that he was no friend of Mayawati.

Citing some other instances, he said cases are slapped depending on relationship.

CBI......AmarBy: V. Muthuswami | 11-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward The whole world knows Amar Singh is no saint nor paragon of virtues, but what he said about Congress party, and the nefarious ways this party (though in minority) manipulates all the socalled independent agencies of a domacractic state, with Italian intelligence, are something no civilzed citizens of Indian can be proud of. The sad state of affairs in the Indian politics is not going to change unless we become/grow as emotionally mature to bring about and foster a party and a genuine leader like Obama (with mass support base), who are truly committed to transparency, accountability and provide good governance. Sadly, this is not going to happen in the foreseeable future, unless we can somehow educate our younger generation with basic self-disciplines, and human values of caring and sharing with no mental aberration and without any malise toward fellow citizens. Is there a leader or party in sight to redeem this country?

CBI STOOGE OF RULING PARTY?By: . B S GANESH | 11-Feb-2009 Reply | Forward There is no doubt CBI is stooge of ruling political party. Perhaps the reason is CONSTITUION HAS SAID. CONSTITUTION is a double edged tool. It can be used if required or misused also if not required. It is high time CBI is made purely indepeendent and subordinate to SUPREME COURT ONLY. This heps attascking corrupt irrespective of status. B S GANESH
