  • The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has set up dedicated phone lines to register complaints of corruption by government officials.

The numbers are: 9427553186 and 079-23233188 and 23233211.

“The complainant need not come to the office for lodging complaint regarding any demand of money by public servant. The complainant can inform the CBI office over phone. If the complaint is found true prima facie, the CBI team will visit the complainant to get more details,” said Deepak Damor, CBI SP, Gandhinagar branch.

“The identity of the complainant or informer will be kept confidential,” Damor said.

He said this year, the CBI has registered 19 cases in Gujarat which includes four trap cases, three disproportionate assets cases, nine cases of criminal misconduct and three preliminary inquiries.

According to him, the CBI office in Gandhinagar has jurisdiction over the whole state and undertakes investigation of cases of corruption and allied offences basically against employees of the Central government departments and PSUs.
