A Delhi court on Saturday allowed the CBI to again question former Telecom minister A Raja, former telecom secretary Siddhartha Behura and Reliance ADAG Group Managing Director Gautam Doshi in connection with the 2G scam. The three are in currently judicial custody.
The court allowed the CBIs plea after it argued that it required to interrogate the key accused afresh during the ongoing probe.
The court rejected the defence plea that they were in the dark as to why the agency wanted further questioning. It is between the court and the prosecution. The accused has no right to be heard in this regard at this stage, it said.
Further investigation is being carried out and Raja,Behura and Doshi are required to be examined in interest of the the case, the CBI plea said.
The court also allowed the CBI to place on record additional documents and statements of witnesses, including transcripts of conversations between corporate lobbyist Niira Radia and others relating to the 2G scam.
