The promos of Prakash Jhas Turning 30 directed by debutant Alankrita Shrivastava are facing censor trouble. The Censor Board has, according to Alankrita raised issues about the kissing scene between Gul Panag and Purab Kohli, another scene in which Gul is showing her middle finger, and also the tag-line Strip the boys. Says a miffed Alankrita,The TV promos of my film are to go on air from this Sunday but before that I will have to make some changes if it has to be passed by the Censor Board. Consequently,Alankrita is removing the lip-lock between the lead pair, blurring the middle- finger scene and changing the tag- line to Unleash the boys. Though she is abiding by the wishes of the Board, she wonders how songs like Munni badnaam hui and Sheila ki jawani are approved when they are nothing but objectification of women.
Incidentally, the promos of No One Killed Jessica too had come under the scanner for some of its dialogues, lyrics and Rani Mukerji showing her middle-finger. Raj Kumar Gupta, whos directed the film, says,There are certain guidelines about what is to be aired on TV and we were advised not to show these scenes. As a result they beeped out the dialogue and lyrics in question and blurred Rani Mukerjis finger in the scene in the promo. We will be going to the Censor Board with the film in a couple of days and will see what they have to say after they watch it in entirety, informs Raj Kumar Gupta.
