Executive Director of Central Bank of India RK Dubey today said that as part of its centenary celebrations,the bank is going to open a branch in every district of the country.
Addressing mediapersons today,Dubey said that as of now,the bank has 3,652 branches all over the country. Most of the new branches,he said,are being opened in Jammu and Kashmir,and the northeastern states. In addition,the bank is also planning to go international and have its presence in commercial centres like Dubai,Abu Dhabi,Singapore,Hong Kong,in African countries like Nigeria and Tanzania,and closer home,in Bhutan.
Dubey said that at the time of nationalisation of banks,Central Bank was second only to State Bank of India in terms of performance. Our position slipped a few ranks because of complacency in our functioning. But now we are focussing on strengthening our position through a multi-pronged effort, he said.
