The Central Railway (Pune Division) edged past Giantz 2-1 in the first division league match of the Peninsula Land PDFA League being held at the SSPMS football ground on Monday.

The game got off to a bright start as both teams had early chances to score. The first chance fell to Central Railway as striker Allwyn Dynanprakash put in a good cross from the right wing but the player missed the target. The next chance fell to Swapnil Kadam of Giantz who expertly curled the ball with his left foot inches over the bar. Following this, Central Railway were passing the ball around well and they were rewarded for their good play in the 14 th minute when they took the lead through Allwyn Dynanprakash. He curled his free kick into the top corner leaving no chance to the Giantz goalkeeper. Central Railway were paying with a lot of confidence following their goal. However, Giantz went on an attacking spree in the last five minutes of the half and equalized in the last minute through Swapnil Kadam. The half ended 1-1.

Giantz started the second half well as they had a chance to score in the first minute of the half. They won a free kick in a good position but failed to convert. Central Railway then enjoyed a good spell of possession where they won a couple of free kicks and took a few cracks on goal. They took the lead in the 47 th minute through Zain Sharif when he converted a rebound off the keeper. Giantz tried to get back in the game but in vain.
