Rs 345 crore allocated for deciding inviolate spaces for wildlife and relocation of villagers from core/ critical tiger habitats within a timeframe.
States are required to delineate buffer areas and submit a tiger conservation plan. This includes providing ‘ecologically viable livelihood options’ to local stakeholders and conserving the forest through restorative inputs. For this, Rs 55.5 crore has been allocated.
Rs 12 crore earmarked from relocating 5,000 families belonging to notified hunting tribes, such as Behelias, Amabalgars, Badaks, Mongias, Bavariyas, Pardhi, Boyas, Kaikads, Nirshikaris, Picharis, Valayaras, Yenadis.
Rs 6 crore earmarked for involving locals in arresting fragmentation of habitats, redressing of man-animal conflict, monitoring and anti poaching. This includes compensation for crops or animal loss.
Rs 32 crore allocated for establishing eight new tiger reserves.
Rs 4 crore earmarked for fostering eco-tourism.
Rs 5 crore allocated for safeguarding and retrofitting of dangerous wires in tiger reserves.
