The Centre said on Wednesday that it is examining the report of Liberhan Commission that enquired into the Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya in 1993. "The Central government is examining the report. As per the provisions of section 3(4) of the Commissions of Inquiry Act,1952 the report together with a memorandum of the action taken thereon will be laid before each House of Parliament," Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Maken said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. Seventeen years after it was set up,the Liberhan Commission submitted its report to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on June 30.
