Indian skipper MS Dhoni is famous for his No.7 fixation. Be it the locket hanging from the chain around his neck,his Team India jersey or the several super bikes lined up in his garage,they all have his favourite numeral on them. Ironically,the No.7 slot in the line-up the spot that is generally occupied by all-rounders has given the skipper a headache for a while now.

On the eve of the Asia Cup final and Ravindra Jadeja not among runs,Team India were once again dealing with their lower middle-order dilemma. The first to pad up at nets was Ravindra Jadeja and,as he sweated out during his long stint,Dhoni watched him hope.

The young all-rounder,besides being an exceptional fielder,can be counted on to effectively bowl his quota of 10 overs. But it is the lack of runs and his inability to force the pace in crunch situations that has meant that the debate over the all-rounder is still open.

Dhoni admitted,Lack of an all-rounder is a big concern. If you want to play with five bowlers,one of them need to bat. Jadeja has got the potential and he has done well in the IPL and domestic games. Now he has got fair amount of chances in international level and we are hoping that he clicks. Jadeja needs to contribute more with the bat as well.

With the World Cup less than a year away,Team Indias search for the all-rounder is expected to get frantic. Jadeja will be competing against the Pathan brothers Irfan and Yusuf,besides Abhishek Nayar. The other contenders are rookies Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (UP) and C Ganpathy (TN). With Irfan still struggling with niggles,and lack of rhythm; Yusuf and Nayar not quite impressing with their bowling,Jadeja happens to be Team Indias best bet right now.
