As many as 145 passengers of the Chandigarh-Mumbai Jet Airways flight were stranded for almost four hours after the aircraft developed a technical snag on Saturday.
It was only after a special aircraft was called in from Delhi with technicians and equipment that the snag was rectified and the ordeal for the passengers ended.
“There was a technical snag because of which the aircraft was not allowed to take off. Scheduled to leave at 2.25 pm, the flight eventually departed around 6.30 pm due to a problem with the electronic system of the aircraft,” said an official of Jet Airways.
Passengers, meanwhile, rued about the lack of alternate provisions in such cases.
A passenger, Rakesh Malhotra, said: “I was to reach Mumbai for an important meeting but I could not make it in time. The airways should have some alternative arrangement so that passengers are not subjected to harassment for no fault of theirs.”
