Change of Act

After composing music and singing in several films,Sukhwinder Singh has now decided to dabble with acting. Singh plays the lead in filmmaker Jagbir Dahiya’s project Khudi Ko Kar Buland Itna,a socially relevant film. The film deals with certain contemporary and relevant issues. “It’s the journey of a man meeting his destiny and coming to terms with himself. I play a simple soul stuck in a roller coaster ride of social actions and reactions,” says Singh,who joins the small league of singers-turned-actors with Sonu Nigam and Lucky Ali.

The Amritsar born Singh,whose recent claim to fame was singing the title track for Danny Boyle’s movie Slumdog Millionaire,says that he was never averse to acting. “A good script came along and I could not refuse,” he says. “But that will not halt my singing career. I am a singer first,” says he,having sung all the songs for Dahiya’s film.
