Chargesheet filed in murder case of Insp M C Sharma

Delhi police filed a chargesheet in a court against suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorist Shahzad,accusing him and others of killing police Inspector M C Sharma in September 2008,six days after the serial blasts in the capital.

Delhi police today filed a chargesheet in a court against suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorist Shahzad,accusing him and others of killing police Inspector M C Sharma in September 2008,six days after the serial blasts in the capital.

Delhi police’s Crime Branch which investigated the matter filed the chargesheet in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja.

The chargesheet named four persons Shahzad,Ariz Khan (absconding) and Atif Ameen and Mohd Sajid (both killed in the encounter) as responsible for the murder of Sharma,an Inspector with the Special Cell,Delhi police.

The case was registered with Jamia Nagar police station following the murder of Sharma in the encounter on September 19,2008.

A team of the Special Cell (anti-terror) of Delhi police had raided a house at Batla House following a tip-off that suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists allegedly involved in the serial blasts in the capital on September 13,2008,were hiding there.

Sharma and two suspected terrorists,Atif and Sajid,were killed in the gun-battle that ensued.

The Crime Branch filed the chargesheet in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate,who marked it to the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kiran Bansal for taking it up tomorrow.
