Last week,Jag Mundhra unleashed ‘The Apartment’ upon us. Barely had we recovered,he’s back with ‘Chase’. A suspected terrorist is on the run and everyone is after him. That’s why, dear readers, the film is called what it is.

The film opens with Sohail Ansari ( Anuuj) vrroooming off on a motorcycle. He’s got a helmet on his head. That is enough reason for the cops to surmise that he is a terrorist : how they come to such a conclusion is never revealed. The man on the fast bike is taken, comatose,to a hospital. Says the head doctor : behosh nahin hai, unko locked-in syndrome hai. Huh?

More mysteries abound. The resident nurse wears tight uniforms which never reach her knees. Said nurse ( Goswami) suspects that the suspected terrorist is faking it. To that end,she dons skimpy lingerie and twirls around the injured man’s bed, clutching a sheet to her largely bare chest whenever she gets an attack of coyness. Says visiting hunky cop to gyrating nurse : yeh kaam nahi, kaamasutra lag raha thaa.

Meanwhile, another set of legs-and-bosom ( Patel) shows up,claiming to be girl friend of vegetative man. There’s also a recording of a murder, and whoever gets their hand on it will win the chase.

More bad guys crop up. So does an evil businessman ( Kapoor). This last worthy is the reason why ‘Chase’ may be of interest to those interested in trivia : Aditya Raj Kapoor is the legendary Yahoo boy Shammi’s middle-aged son, making a splash in the movies. Only if you know will you notice the resemblance. He’s a pale copy of his flamboyant father. All we can say is that we wish he had desisted.
