After a gap of eight months, the Airport Metro has resumed the check-in facility at the New Delhi Metro station, for passengers taking domestic and international flights.
The service is available between 6 am and 8 pm and fliers can avail the facility from 2.5 hours to 8 hours before departure.
Currently, only Air India and Jet Airways will provide the check-in service. However, Airport Metro officials have stated that talks are on with other airlines to set up their check-in facility.
"Jet Airways and Air India international passengers — for now only to the Gulf — can avail this facility at the New Delhi Metro station," a spokesperson said. While the Airport Express Line is connected directly to Terminal-3, passengers arriving at or boarding flights from Terminal-1 can avail the service from the Aerocity Metro station, he said.
A statement from the Airport Metro read: "The check-in facility will be beneficial for domestic and international airline passengers, who can handover their luggage well in advance and utilise their time better. This will be helpful for upcountry passengers — from states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan — who wish to catch international flights."
