The CID Crime in Ahmedabad seized cash, valuables, and vehicles in the Ashok Jadeja case on Monday. Property and bank documents belonging to Jadeja and his relatives were also seized.
R K Patel, DySP of CID Crime said: “A sum of Rs 85 lakh in cash was recovered from a Vadodara-based builder, who had come forward to hand over the money. We also raided the bungalow of Harsh — one of Jadeja’s relatives — at Guma and found a savings certificate of Bank of Baroda worth Rs 30 lakh. Papers of a land transaction of Keliyavas near Dholka have also been recovered.”
Patel added: “Another Rs 60 lakh was seized from Kanti Jadeja (Jadeja’s absconding brother) and Ashok Jadeja’s bank accounts. Both Ashok and Kanti had seven to eight accounts with different banks. Kanti had bought 15 godowns at Sarkhej and original papers of the same have been seized.”
Additionally, the CID also seized jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh from Kanti’s bank locker, and vehicles such as a Tavera, a Wagon-R and a Pulsar motorcycle belonging to Shaitan Singh, Jadeja’s administrator who is now in police custody.
