‘Chhota Rajan wants to be ganglord again’

According to the police,the pattern of shootout locations and the targets chosen show a “direct approach” by Rajan to reclaim the ganglord identity that he once shared with his staunch rival Dawood Ibrahim. While many say these efforts have been seen in the past two years in intercepts of Rajan’s communication with his local logistic support,it is only after the recent shootouts that the Mumbai Police was able to make a clearer assessment of his approach. “With Dawood under tremendous pressure,there can’t be a better time,” said a former officer who has tracked Rajan’s movements for years.
