Chidambaram’s monthly report awaiting EC’s nod

Chidambaram,after taking over as the Home Minister on November 30 in the aftermath of 26/11 Mumbai terror strikes,had announced that he would be presenting monthly report every month. This would have been his fourth such report.

There was no word from Election Commission on this issue.

On the issue of filing of complaint against Chidambaram for using Press Information Bureau facilities to launch an attack on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendera Modi,Deputy Election Commission R Balakrishnan said,“the commission is in process of considering the complaints that have been received.

The full commission will formulate its response.” Taking on Modi,who had described the shifting of the IPL as a “national shame”,the Home Minister had said on March 23 that most people in India thought that the Gujarat communal riots of 2002 were a “national shame”.

There was another complaint about Chidambaram’s visit to Rajasthan which was also being examined.
