
The excuses are plenty. Coffee or chai… walk or talk, catching up or just chilling out! “All we want to do is sneak out of the class and land up at some place interesting,” chirps Amrita Gosh of the Law Department, as we spot her at Stucee with her gang of 15, all set to head for the next destination — the hut at UBS. With them spending over a week to chalk out the “hot-spots” we trot with them and others to dish out the best places for youngsters.
Care for Coffee?: When it comes to youngsters, the finances are always lean. “And so nothing does it better for us than a cuppa at one of the Nescafe counters dotting Panjab University,” chorus twins Vikas and Ritika Kamboj, who also are fond of stop-overs at the geri route, right from Coffee Caffe Day, Barista, Vijay Shakes to Bakes and Beans. “They are a bliss for us guys, who just want to indulge in harmless fun,” smiles Karan Wadera of GC-11. Spending time at the green zone opposite Government Arts College are Nikhil, Dhruv and Tarun of DAV College, Sector 10. “Stop & Stare not only offers umpteen options to eat, but is ideal for a good weather day.” They tell us it’s here that Dhruv met his lady love for the first time.
All things lovey-dovey: If ‘Love Aaj Kal’ is anything to go by, then you need places for just about everything — to meet the lover, to have fun and then of course, to break up. “And on those counts Chandigarh is buzzing,” says Harmeet Kaur, a BA-I student of GCG-11, who completed the first round of events in a span of one week. The first interaction at Nik Bakers, meeting up at Oven Fresh and the calling off at The Party. “All went perfectly well. We had a ball,” chips in boyfriend Rohan, who faced just one problem. “There are too many party places to choose from,” he says. He had a tough time deciding between Zinc, The Party, Score and the all-new Black Magic.
