The Dalai Lama Saturday lashed out at China for “closely scrutinising” all his movements and accused it of double standards on the Tibetan issue.
“All my movements are seen as negative by China,” the Dalai Lama said, referring to his recent Tawang visit. He was talking to reporters after delivering a speech at the “International Conference on Exploring Tibet's History and Culture”, organised by Delhi University and the Central University of Tibetan Studies.
Taking a dig at China, Dalai said that wherever he went, people referred to him as the Dalai Lama of Tibet and not as the Dalai Lama of China. “I think the Chinese want me to be called the Dalai Lama of Chinese Tibet,” he said.
Asked whether Tibet would be on the PM’s agenda during his US visit, he said, “The government of India has helped us immensely for the past 50 years.”
