Chinese gave nuclear technology to Pakistan as ‘India was China's enemy and Pakistan was India's enemy’.

China had tested for Pakistan its first nuclear bomb as early as in 1990, enabling Islamabad to respond within weeks to the Indian atomic tests eight years later, a top US nuclear expert has claimed.

"The Chinese did a massive training of Pakistani scientists, brought them to China for lectures, even gave them the design of the CHIC-4 device, which was a weapon that was easy to build a model for export," former US Air Force Secretary Thomas Reed told American news magazine 'US News and World Report'.

Reed, who had worked at Livermore National Laboratory as a weapons designer, had co-authored a new book -- The Nuclear Express: A Political History of the Bomb and Its Proliferation -- with Danny Stillman, the former director of the technical intelligence division at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The book makes a scathing indictment of China, alleging that it intentionally proliferated nuclear technology to ‘risky regimes’, particularly Pakistan, the magazine said.

The Chinese gave the nuclear technology to Pakistan as ‘India was China's enemy and Pakistan was India's enemy,’ Reed told the magazine.

"Under Pakistani President Benazir Bhutto, the country built its first functioning nuclear weapon. We believe that during Bhutto's term in office, the People's Republic of China tested Pakistan's first bomb for her in 1990," he said.

He said there are numerous reasons to believe this, including the design of the weapon and information gathered from discussions with Chinese nuclear experts.

"That's why the Pakistanis were so quick to respond to the Indian nuclear tests in 1998. It only took them two weeks and three days," Reed said.

China tested 1st N-bomb for Pak in 1990: US arms expertBy: hayagreeva | 12-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward china wanted to arm its closest allay North Korea with nuclear arms technology and missile technology as a counter to US presence in south Korea and Taiwan with Nukes and, it could not do it as it had already signed NPT ; India and hence Pakistan had not signed it. China supplied the technology to Pak with a condition that it in turn supply that to North Korea.
China tested 1st N-bomb for Pak in 1990By: Avinash K. Rangra | 04-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward "China tested 1st N-bomb for Pak in 1990: US arms expert:" dah! I thought it was obvious to any one smarter than a door knob that Pakis could not/did not have the desired level of technical know how in nuclear science complexities. China provided nuclear technology to Pakistan, and missile technology to North Korea. The two... North Korea, and Pakistan, later went through the mating dance of exchanging these two technologies with each other, and Iran, and other rogue nations. When are we going to learn? China and Pakistan can never be India's friend.

DEAR INDIANSBy: Dase Prami | 03-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward DEAR WE MAKE PAK A NUCLEAR NATION NO NEED TO TEST IN 1998 WE ALREADY HAVE N-BOMB IN 1970 ONLY NOW WE GIVE A CHILD A SWORD
PAK NUCLEAR BOMB - FICTIONBy: Pushpinder Singh Harsh | 03-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward Pakistan's so-called quick response to the 1998 Nuke Testing by India came through kind courtesy of China. Pakistan was provided basic Nucleur devices for pseudo-testing by China, one of which failed to function. Pakistan does not possess the number of nucleur devices periodically reported by USA. That is only a ploy to keep Indian Politicians from finding the guts to hit US partner in all crimes, whenever circumstances demand such reactions. If Pakistan had the capability to produce nuclear devices, Libya, Iran and North Korea would have become Nuclear weapon states as well. It is not without reason that US reaction was quite insignificant despite the alleged transfer of Nuke Bomb Technology by Pakistan to Libya and North Korea. US reactions to Iran's independent efforts to acquire the N-weapons is an evidence of the same. US, Pakistan and China have been maintaining a hoax, to keep India under pressure to refrain from acting tough with Pakistan.
