China win Asian title

World No 9 Ding Ning led the way as the Chinese women won the team title by beating Singapore 3-1 in the final of the Asian Table Tennis championships in Lucknow.

World No 9 Ding Ning led the way as the Chinese women won the team title by beating Singapore 3-1 in the final of the Asian Table Tennis championships in Lucknow. Ning put in an impressive performance,defeating 11th-ranked Wang Yue Gu and Feng Tianwei on Thursday. Indias mens team finished seventh in the Champions Division after overcoming Singapore 3-2. Achanta Sharath Kamal led the challenge in the playoff clash as the world number 70 first beat Cai Xiaoli 3-0 and then overcame Zi Yang 3-1 in the return tie.
