Maoists are getting arms from China, but not from the Chinese government, Union Home Secretary G K Pillai said on Thursday.

"I have never said that Maoists get arms from the Chinese government. They get arms from China and not from the Chinese government," Pillai clarified while interacting with reporters after reviewing Orissa government's preparedness to deal with Maoists.

Terming illegal arms trade as big business in the world, he said Maoists and others get illegal arms from neighbouring countries like China, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

Maoist arms By: indian | 21-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Idiots are running the country. What else you expect. Nothing moves in China with out China government knowledge and approval.Get it Mr Secretary.
Maoist arm made in ChinaBy: Indian | 21-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Maoists can be eliminated in 3 months if the government had guts and desire to do so. What else you can expect Congress government. Nehru died as a broken man he did not listen or do any thing before it was too late and asked USA to invade China. China has agents in government doing their dirty work.People feel helpless as they felt in 1962. Communism and Maoism is cancer has to be eliminated whatever it takes. Times of India is not Indian paper any more.
Maoists get arms from China, not Chinese govt: PillaiBy: dpsahoo | 21-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward A couple of months back I had commented in TOI that Maoists and other terrorists are getting arms and other supports from China, meaning Chinese Government. But TOI had no guts to publish it, nor the Government has the guts to tell it. Now Pillai says Maoists don't get arms from Chinese Government. What was the need of telling this. The first part that they are getting arms from china would have sufficed. He could not have asserted that Chinese Government is supplying arms due to want of proof and China would have pounced upon the Indian Government. What more proof one requires in the face of news items that China proliferated nuke materials by supplying to Pakistan and Korea and may be Iran ? We don' have the guts to call a spade a spade because of our inherent weakness.
Maoist get arms from ChinaBy: Shadi Katyal | 21-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Has India now reached at such low level that we have statements from Govt officer denying Chines arms. Is he aware that China being a communist nation sells arms only and not any agent in China. Where are we getting this crop of completely empty headed officers. India off course must give some statement in any issue and make fool of her in world eyes.It is a habit learnt from Nehru onward. We the people of India are leaving us future on such officers. No wonder we are attacked at a drop of pin.
It is time we get tough with ChinaBy: Mathew Abraham | 21-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward I fully agree with Bharat. It is time we take a stand against communist China instead of finding excuses for their serious unneighbourly behaviour. As a first step, let us recognise Taiwan as an independent county and open immediate diplomatic relations. Next, let us train and arm the Tibetans so that they can liberate their country from the illegal Chinese occupation.
