  • The Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO) will soon be inviting Expression of Interest (EOI) for construction of a hotel in Industrial Area Phase I on a public-private partnership model.

The three-acre plot occupied by a steel depot of CITCO would be converted into a hotel. The decision was taken during a Board meeting of CITCO on Monday. The steel depot, meanwhile, will be shifted to Industrial Area Phase III.

The Board has also constituted a committee to take a decision on the revision of the pay scales of CITCO employees.

In another proposal, it was decided that after the renovation of Hotel Mountview, an amount of Rs 9 crore would be spent on upgrading Hotel Shivalikview.

A first-of-its-kind glass terrace restaurant would give a view of the city from all sides. A swimming pool, discotheque, health club and a business centre will also be special features. The CITCO petrol pump in Sector 9 will also be covered under the renovation plan.
