As many as five city-based judo players- two cadets and three players will get a chance to showcase their skills at the international level after they were selected in the national team that will represent the country in two international events.
According to Dev Singh Dhaliwal, general secretary, Punjab Judo Association, Karamvir Singh and Jagpreet Singh of SAI training centre have been selected for the World Cadet Judo Championship to be held at Hungary from August 6 to 12. Other than these two players, three boys and five girls players from the state have selected in the team.
Meanwhile, Amit Kumar, Amarvir, Govind Rai, all from Ludhiana and Davinder Kumar from Jalandhar will be part of the Indian contingent that will take part in the World Youth and Junior Judo championship to be held in November at Taipei, China.
