Minor raped by trio, two arrested
New Delhi: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three persons in East Delhi on Sunday. While police have arrested two of the accused, one is absconding. Police said the girl, a student of Class X, lives in Ghazipur with her parents. She was allegedly gangraped at an isolated spot by three persons who were known to her. "We arrested two persons on Tuesday. One of them is a juvenile. A case of rape has been registered," said Prabhakar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) .
One injured in North Delhi fire
New Delhi: A cylinder blast, around 10 pm on Wednesday, in Shastri Nagar, North Delhi, left one person injured. "We sent two fire tenders to control the fire at the house. The fire was under control within 10 minutes," a fire official said. Police said a portion of the house was damaged.
Man held for kidnapping four-year-old boy
New Delhi: Police on Tuesday arrested a man on charges of kidnapping a four-year-old boy in Ghaziabad. The accused, Sumit (22), is a resident of Loni, Ghaziabad. "We had received information that Sumit would be coming to Mayur Vihar Metro station on Monday, from where we nabbed him," said Ashok Chand, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime). Police said Sumit later confessed he had resorted to the kidnapping as he was unable to meet his daily expenses.
Bomb hoax on train, chaos at station
New Delhi: A hoax call that there was a bomb placed on Udaipur Hazrat Nizamuddin-Mewar Express led to chaos at Nizamuddin railway station on Wednesday evening. The Bomb squad along with sniffer dogs rushed to the spot. After a two-hour thorough checking, the train was declared safe for travel. According to the Railway Police, a call to the control room in Faridabad around 5pm said a bomb will explode at 7pm on the Mewar Express.
