New Delhi: Police on Sunday arrested a computer science student, his friend and a juvenile for their alleged involvement in several cases of chain snatching. "They are residents of Tirpolia Rana Pratap Bagh. One of them is a second-year student doing diploma course in computer science, who was a habitual gambler. Since he had borrowed huge sums of money and has been unable to pay the debts, he started committing crimes such chain snatching," a police officer said. Police said he even managed to lure a friend, who is jobless, and a minor into his criminal activities. They were arrested from Vasant Vihar.
Trader killed in Azadpur market
New Delhi:A Haryana-based businessman was found murdered in North Delhi's Azadpur market on Monday morning. Rikshpal (50) had come to the market from Sonepat for a business deal with some shopkeepers in Azadpur. The incident came to light when a local found him lying in a pool of blood and informed the police. Police ruled out robbery because Rs 9,000 in cash and a mobile phone was found on him.
12-year-old boy commits suicide
New Delhi:A 12-year-old student allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at his home in East Delhi's Pandav Nagar, police said. Rohit, a Class V student of an MCD school, was living with his mother and two younger brothers in Pandav Nagar. Police said the minor was found hanging from the fan by his mother, who works as a domestic help in the area. The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. No suicide note was recovered, police said.
