Four injured after tree branch falls
Four youths were injured after a branch of a banyan tree fell on them in Ganj Peth area on Sunday afternoon. Though all of them were said to be out of danger,the injuries of two of them are reportedly serious,fire brigade officials said. They said the incident took place around 4.15 pm. Some youths in the area were chatting when a dead branch fell on them. The injured have been identified as Yogesh Patole (21),Rajiv Kolhe (22),Vishal Kangod (20) and Shivsharan Gaikwad (21). Fire officer Sunil Gilbile said,Before we reached the spot,the local people took the injured to the hospital.”
Walking plaza in two weeks: PMC chief
The proposed walking plaza on Laxmi Road will be implemented in two weeks,Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) commissioner Mahesh Pathak said on Sunday. “The planning for traffic arrangements is underway. I have told the officials to implement the project in two weeks,” Pathak said. The civic chief added there would be no entertainment events on the walking plaza. “It is going to be a walking plaza for customers,” he said.
