  • A city court today decided on a 21-year-old case where a student was stabbed outside Aurobindo College. Yadram, an activist of the National Student Union of India, had gone to a party that the victorious union leader of Aurobindo College, Kapoor Singh Dagar, had thrown on August 31, 1988 when he was killed. His friend Rajinder Singh, who had accompanied him, was also attacked but survived.

On Thursday Additional Sessions Judge M K Nagpal sentenced Bijender Singh, Dipender Singh and Randhir Singh to rigorous life imprisonment and fined them each Rs 1.5 lakh for killing Yadram and injuring Rajinder Singh. The proceedings against another accused Joginder Pal Singh were stalled as he absconded during the trial and was declared a proclaimed offender.
