With Kolkata ranking among the top 10 telecom markets in the country, the city saw the advent of yet another service on Thursday.

Joining hands with Japanese-based telecom major NTT Docomo, Tata Teleservices Ltd launched Tata Docomo GSM brand today. While subscribers within the 2,300 sq feet telecom circle in Kolkata will be able to access the service from today, it will be extended to the entire district within few weeks.

The brand would be available in 10,000 telecom outlets across the city initially.

Interestingly, city mobile users will now have an option of using GSM services where per-second pricing model is available on voice calls, value added services, IVR interactions among others. The subscribers would be charged one paisa per second.
