Accountant held for Rs 25 lakh fraud
Gurgaon: A case has been filed against an accountant working in a textile company for a fraud running up to Rs 25 lakh. Rakesh Kumar was working with Graffiti Export Private Limited for the past four years and had used company cheques to transfer cash to his account. SHO of Udyog Vihar police station Amarjeet Singh said company officials used to give Kumar blank cheques when they travelled out of the city for work. He used these to transfer the money,he said.
Disaster awareness drive in North Delhi
New Delhi: The 8th Battalion of National Disaster Response Force and District Disaster Management Authority conducted a disaster awareness drive in Kamla Nagar,North Delhi,on Tuesday morning. NDRF men demonstrated basic safety techniques and first-aid manoeuvres to be used in the event of an earthquake. The awareness drive will continue on Wednesday.
Animal specimens seized,school booked
New Delhi: The Delhi Police seized several animal specimens including a turtle,cobra,sting rays and birds from the biology lab of Faith Academy School in Prasad Nagar. The school authorities have been booked under various provisions of the Wildlife Act for keeping specimens in the laboratory without a proper licence.
Motorcycle crashes into pole,man killed
New Delhi: A 32-year-old man was killed on Tuesday when his motorcycle crashed into an electricity pole in Aman Vihar,Outer Delhi. Aijaz alias Raju was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Police said Aijaz worked with a Peeragarhi-based private company and was returning home when the motorcycle crashed into the pole.
