Smriti Mehra carded two-over 74 to take the lead on the second day at the sixth leg of the WGAI Women's Pro tour golf on Wednesday. Smriti is now seven-over 151, two shots clear of last week's winner, Nalini Singh Siwach (77), who is now at nine-over 153. Saaniya Sharma (76) was two shots further at 155, while Neha Tripathi (80) was lying fourth at 157. Vani Kapoor played a round of 75, way better than her first round 83, to be fifth at 158.
Rudresh on top
Delhi's Rudresh Sharma posted a five-under-66 to take the lead in round one of the IndianOil XtraPremium Masters Golf. Mukesh Kumar of Mhow, Gurgaon's Deepinder Singh Kullar, Jaipur's Vishal Singh and Md Zamal Hossain of Bangladesh are in tied second place with matching scores of four-under-67 at the Digboi Golf Links. Rudresh's round included seven birdies and two bogeys.
Sonnet win
A fine spell by Gourav Chouhan (5/5) and a good batting contribution of 40 from wicket keeper-batsman Sankalp Srivastva helped Sonnet Club beat Super Star club by 7 wickets in DDCA U-16 Vijay Mehra cricket tournament. Ishan Chatterji (32) and Kartik Dobriyal (28 n.o) also contributed.
