  • The BMC pulled down 51 hoardings displayed on public roads and footpaths for Ramzan and Mount Mary fair on Thursday. The action was taken after corporators complained that while display of hoardings and banners by political parties is banned during the model code of conduct the hoardings were on display for the festivities.

The hoardings were put up in Bandra, Bhendi Bazar and Andheri area by sponsors and political parties. According to a circular issued by the civic administration display of political and commercial advertisements on BMC footpaths and roads is banned.
