Cleric arrested for raping minor

A cleric was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir,a police official said.

Mohmmad Farooq,who used to impart religious education to students in Mendhar area,allegedly raped the minor on Friday,they said.

The victim informed her parents,who registered a case against Farooq,they said.

Medical examination of the girl was conducted report of which is awaited,they said,adding that Farooq has been arrested.
