Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday criticised those decrying Anna Hazare for praising his development oriented governance. He said this on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Parimal underpass.
The Wadaj Dudheshwar Bridge and Parimal underpass have been built at a cost of Rs 48.78 crore and Rs 17.79 crore.
Modi said Anna Hazare was an innocent and gullible man and said what he saw about him,but his opponents could not stand it.
The very mention of Gujarat makes them feverish and so they went for Annas jugular the moment he spoke good of Modi and Gujarat, the Chief Minister said.
He added that Anna did not call anyone corrupt by name when he remarked about politicians being corrupt, but the Congress presumed it was the target.
Modi said Gujarat was the only state in the country developing industry and agriculture simultaneously, adding that the progress will be further bolstered with the development of Dholera as the worlds largest city in the future.
He said the year-long celebration of the states golden jubilee could be a case study for any university.
Senior party leader and Gandhinagar MP L K Adavani said he had never criticised Hazare or was against his movement, and indeed praised his efforts for demanding a stringent Lokpal Bill,as corruption is a big issue in the country.
