Going by the poll manifesto of the ruling BJP, Uttarakhand Chief Minister retired Maj Gen B C Khanduri has ordered a preliminary inquiry into the 55 scandals that reportedly occured under the previous government.
Subhash Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, in a letter addressed to all the heads of departments has asked them to look into the accusations. They have been asked to send status reports on these irregularities to the office of the Chief Minister by tomorrow. The scandals which made it to the BJP poll manifesto also find mention in the letter. Prominent among them are related to patwari selection, police recruitment and irregularities in electronic meters.
