The CNN-IBN exit poll, conducted by the Centre for Study of Developing Societies, projects that the UPA will get a clear lead as against its main rival NDA, with the Third Front standing at a distant third position in the Lok Sabha election. The exit poll also projects the Fourth Front getting 25-35 seats, with 15-20 seats going to others. The results of the election will be announced on Saturday.
According to the exit poll, the UPA is projected to win between 210 and 225 seats as against the NDA which is projected to win between 180 and 195 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha. The results of the exit poll suggest that the Third Front will get between 95 and 110 seats.
The exit poll also suggests that the ruling Congress, projected to win between 158 and 173 seats, will have a clear lead against its rival BJP, which is projected to win between 132 and 147 seats.
The exit poll says the DMK, with 47 per cent votes, will have a clean sweep against its rival AIADMK which is projected to garner 34 per cent votes in politically crucial Tamil Nadu.
Suggesting that the Left faces a tough fight against Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, the exit poll projects 30-40 seats for the Left parties across the country.
