Cockroach found in Maggi

Naveen Kumar Joshi found a cockroach in the Maggi he purchased to have his breakfast at the UT Red Cross Canteen on the fourth floor of PGI on Wednesday. After spotting the insect ,he immediately brought the matter to the notice of the canteen operator who admitted not noticing it while preparing the Maggi.

Joshi later gave a written complaint to PGI Medical Superintendent Dr A K Gupta and to the office of Deputy Director Dr Surjit Singh. In his complaint,a copy of which is with the Newsline,Joshi stated that prior to this,he had had pastry from another canteen on the PGI premises,when he suffered severe food poisoning. He asked the authorities to get the food at the canteens regularly checked so that nobody else falls sick or has to go through such an experience. Joshi,a CRPF personnel,is currently attending to a patient from Srinagar who is admitted at PGI. Despite repeated attempts,the medical superintendent could not be contacted.
