An incomplete circle,a free play of elements, and a gamut of colour — every line and brush-stroke comes alive with meaning at Abstract Art,a group show at Gallerie Ganesha. The participating artists include Murli Dhar Rai,Kavita Jaiswal,Partha Shaw,Shobha Broota and Dipak Banerjee. “I don’t believe in surface tension binding an image. In my paintings, the elements are free and there’s an ecstatic movement that symbolises joy and freedom,” says Jaiswal about her work Elemental Ecstasy. Banerjee from Bengal has used vegetable colours to depict the five elements of life in his painting called Panch Boot. Dhar’s painting shows the movement of light and uses symbols like a broken circle to indicate incomplete time and a bolt to indicate solidity.

The exhibition will be held till July 5. Contact: 29217306,29226043
