The backdrop of each of the four stories in Vinay Shuklas Mirch will reflect a different season.
The plot of all the four stories in Mirch is the same how a woman is caught red-handed with her lover by her husband and yet manages to wriggle out scot-free. But director Vinay Shukla decided to give each story a different hue and flavour. He set each story in a different time-frame and against a different season to add layers and intrigue. The film revolves around a husband, wife and the other man and stars Konkona Sen Sharma,Raima Sen,Shreyas Talpade,Boman Irani and Rajpal Yadav. I wanted to make the colour palette of the backdrop different for each story, says Shukla.
The film will have Konkona playing an adulteress in two stories. While one has a medieval setting, the other is set in contemporary times. She plays a queen in the period story where one can see her in all her glory as a royal and will be seen as a contemporary burqa-clad Muslim woman in the other.
Raima Sen,who also essays the principal characters in two stories, will be seen in two different versions in modern times. One of her stories is set in a scenic ambience with a small lake and mountains, which will reflect spring, while the other is based in a Mumbai flat during the monsoons, reveals the director.
According to Shukla, the film also travels from a palatial palace in Rajasthan to a villa in Karjat and an apartment and a one-room tenement in Mumbai to show how our living space has dwindled. Produced by Reliance Big Pictures,Mirch releases on December 10.
