While the names Duke Kunal Rao, Lady Aditi Mittal, Knight Sapan Verma and Count Sahil Shah might sound straight out of a play, the East India Co.medy Show, which they will be showcasing is a completely different affair. To be showcased at the ABC Farms in Koregaon Park on June 15 the gig will feature them showcase their own individual comic styles that include puns, one-liners and stand up comedy. All the four members of the group have had varied interests prior to the East India Co.Medy. While Rao and Verma are regulars at the Comedy Store in Mumbai, Mittal has been a regular on Jay Hind- the online stand up show and Shah has been a stand up comic who has performed in various cities across the nation. The event, which will begin at nine pm, will also see the founder of East India Co.medy Sourabh Pant perform a short stand up cameo at the venue.

It's always been my dream to do a movie which has a realistic action theme in it," says newcomer Abhishek Anand about his role in the upcoming film Chakradhaar. In the city to promote the movie along with actor Yashpal Sharma at Four Points by Sheraton in Viman nagarAnand spoke in length about the storyline of the film. Set in Benaras, Chakradhaar, tells the story of a simple man Shravan (portrayed by Anand) who battles corruption and politics to avenge the wrongs done unto him. "The injustice done to him makes him violent and drives him to change the system," he says. Set to release on June 15 the title of the film literally means 'sharp edge'. Anand says that the action, script and the message of the filme were instrumental in the film being named so. Sharma and Anand both agree on the fact that the film will appeal to youngsters owing to its theme. Sharma adds that the movie is different from other films that have been made on corruption that have inspired people to bring about a change in society. Commenting on his co-star he says, "Abhishek is a brilliant actor. The way he has handled himself in the film will prove his acting skills to the audiences," he says. Shot in a span of 58 days Anand is hoping to leave a mark with his maiden film. He also says that shooting for an item song in the film was a unique experience. "It was thrilling," he says, adding, "This is the exact kind of film I wanted to begin my career with."
