After the St John’s School, Sector 26, received a notice from the UT Education Department to hold an inquiry into a matter reported by a guardian, whose sons study in the school, the guardian claimed that he had no faith in the school administration.
T K Goyal had complained to the UT Education Department accusing Michael Angelo Francis, a teacher in the school, of showing adult websites to students on his mobile phone during the class.
The school was then asked to conduct an inquiry. However, when the school summoned Goyal he refused to turn up and gave it in writing to the school that he has no faith in the inquiry to be conducted by the school.
Goyal said, “I have no faith in the school and I have submitted all evidence to the UT Education Department”, to which the school responded that if he had no faith in its administration then why did he admit his children in the school.
A spokesperson from the school said they have tried best and have requested Goyal to help in the inquiry but he has refused.
The matter is pending and the school has shown its helplessness in conducting the inquiry without Goyal’s support.
On Thursday, students from the school and alumni had come out in support of Francis and given statements to the media that Francis was like a father to them and had a wonderful moral character.
Francis continued to be on voluntary leave till the matter is decided. In his written statement to the school, Francis claimed that after he did not oblige Goyal’s sons, their father concocted the story to defame him.
