Cong equally responsible as BJP in Babri demolition: SP

The SP alleged on Friday that Congress was 'equally responsible' as BJP in the demolition of Babri Masjid.

The SP alleged on Friday that Congress was “equally responsible” as BJP in the demolition of Babri Masjid and said it was trying to wash its hands off the incident through tabling of the Liberhan Commission report in Parliament.

“The Congress is trying to wash its hands off the Babri Masjid demolition by tabling the commission report 17 years after the structure was pulled down.

“The acts of its leaders like Rajiv Gandhi and P V Narasimha Rao during their respective prime ministerial tenures prove that the party was equally responsible for the tragic event of December 6,1992,” senior SP leader Ujjwal Raman Singh said in a statement in Allahabad.
