Cong fields candidate against Lalu

Congress announced its party candidate for Patliputra constituency of Bihar from where RJD chief Lalu Prasad is contesting.

Congress announced its party candidate for Patliputra constituency of Bihar from where RJD chief Lalu Prasad is contesting. The party has fielded former MP Vijay Kumar Yadav for the seat. This could well increase the trouble of Prasad, who is already facing a formidable Yadav candidate in Ranjan Yadav there.

Ranjan Yadav,a friend-turned-foe of Prasad is contesting against him on a JD-U ticket. Yadav left the Ram Vilas Paswan-led LJP after the party proceeded for an alliance with RJD. He joined Nitish Kumar’s JD-U vowing to defeat the RJD chief.

With three Yadav candidates from the main parties in the state vying for the votes of the community, which comprise the maximum electorate there, other communities would also become an important deciding factor now.

In Saran, the other parliamentary seat from where Prasad is contesting,BJP has fielded Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Candidature of a local businessman Salim Parvej from BSP is brewing further trouble for Prasad’s Muslim-Yadav poll calculations there.
