Cong for stability: Pranab

External Affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee asked people to vote for stability.

The Congress on Wednesday ridiculed BJP’s allegation that the UPA government had done little for Assam, saying it “corrected” the inaction in the region during the NDA rule.

“Rs 26678 crore was provided to the state by Centre for setting up development projects,” External Affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee said asking people to vote for stability.

“People should vote for stability and development which the Congress can provide,” Mukherjee told two election rallies here and at Bhalukmari in the Kaliabor Lok Sabha constituency.

The senior Congress leader attacked the BJP-led NDA regime for “neglecting” the North Eastern region which was subsequently “corrected” by the UPA government.
